Tremco CPG has an open position for a Technical Estimator to support the Technical Department by providing project estimates, shop drawings, technical details for client inquiries relating to Nudura (ICF) product lines. This position will be responsible for developing and implementing project estimating, shop drawing creation, and Pre-Cut process documentation using Tekla Structures and AutoCAD software format.  This position works remote and can live anywhere in the US or Toronto.


Estimating, shop drawings, construction modeling

  • Develop and implement processes for estimating, shop drawing creation, and construction modeling to provide added value to extended sales team and client base .
  • Assist the Technical Department on an as needed basis with AutoCAD drafting and designs.
  • Coordinate with Technical Manager to develop standard operating procedures for project estimating, shop drawing creation, and Pre-Cut process development
  • Create and maintain database for all projects to include all submittals, correspondence, models, and documentation provided to client on company accessible platform
  • Coordinate with Technical Manager, Nudura Product Manager, and R&D Manager for new product integration for estimating and shop drawings
  • Assist in drawing production as may be required for up-date and maintenance of product detail library
  • Attend all meetings and support R&D team initiatives
  • Assist technical R&D team in developing conceptual drawings for new product ideas from initial product development through to finished launch of product
  • Assist Marketing and Sales Teams in development of written text/ illustrations for catalogue and installation or design support literature – new product launch
  • Develop Nudura component library for Tekla and Sketchup Warehouse database
  • Produce detailed project specific shop drawings through SketchUp and Tekla Structures software platforms

To        Assist the Technical Services Manager in creation and ongoing maintenance of Nudura’s Master Drawing Library:

  • Assist with the production and update of all Nudura part drawings, form unit drawings, assembly details, and building sections, as may be required on ongoing basis
  • Production of new assembly detailing or custom detailing as may be required for ongoing distributor support by the Technical Services Manager or Sales Representatives
  • Production of new product drawings and illustrations as may be required by the R&D team
  • Production of supporting illustrations (including 3D illustration) as may be required by the Technical Services, Sales, and Marketing Departments for ongoing maintenance of the NUDURA Installation Manual, Design Specification Guide, technical reports or papers, sales documentation, NUDURA Product Catalogues and Marketing brochures or other graphic documentation.
  • Responsible for the creation of technical animations to assist with the Marketing and Sales initiatives
  • Conversion of AutoCAD documents to PDF, GIF, JPEG, EPS, WMF or other file formats as may be required for communication with other departments.
  • Other tasks or responsibilities as required.


  • OSHA 10 preferred but not required.
  • HS Diploma required.  Bachelor's Degree in Science, Engineering, Construction, or similar field is preferred.


  • 2+ years Technical Service and Commercial Construction experience
  • 3 plus years experience in estimating, shop drawings and construction experience
  • ICF experience preferred
  • Must have the ability to read blueprints. 
  • Independent problem solver understands commercial building and what does and does not work.
  • AutoCAD and Drafting experience preferred
  • Experience with Word and Excel.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Effective team player.
  • Self-motivated.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Mechanical aptitude.
