Job Description

Dryvit Systems, Inc. is seeking a Utility Operator at our North Kingstown, RI manufacturing plant. This position provides general support to the production area to handle overflow and ensure maximum efficiency, quality, and safety.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Ensure readiness of blenders for unloading and dumping. For example, capping, loading, and scooping pails, covers, skids, etc.
  • Load and move material and operate packaging equipment. 
  • Check proper packaging of materials and finished products.  
  • Label pails according to production schedule requirement.
  • Maintain clean work area, floors, cappers, and drains.
  • Identify and report any problems relating to the product, process, and quality system.
  • Follow Good Manufacturing Practices
  • Provide assistance in production where/when necessary
  • Other duties as assigned.

EXPERIENCE, TRAINING, AND EDUCATION

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Basic mathematical skills are required.
  • Basic computer experience required.
  • 2+years of experience in a warehouse or plant is preferred.
  • Valid driver’s license and forklift operator’s license.

WORK ENVIRONMENT & PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • This position works in an environment in which safety, environmental and health concerns demand constant attention.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to read, count and write to accurately complete all documentation; walk, bend, stoop, climb, crawl, lift, reach, grab, twist/turn, or strike in a repetitive fashion; listen and recognize sounds, see mechanical devices, smell oddities to identify potential areas of concern or disrepair of equipment; may be required to conduct repairs in confined spaces. Must be able to operate and use all necessary equipment and required tools and lift weight over the should to approximately 50 pounds independently or more with assistance from a lift or team member.
  • Performing the duties of the job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts, and vibration. The noise level in the work environment can be loud and dirty.
  • This is a full-time position, Monday through Friday. The standard workday schedule is set by the Plant Manager.
