Job Description

Temporary Warehouse Material Handler - Vernon Plant

Assist with the manufacturing duties at the Vernon plant which includes Production and QC, Shipping, Receiving, and Maintenance as needed.

Duties/Responsibilities, Core knowledge:

Production and QC

  • Operate production equipment to make and fill products into various containers
  • Follow batch processing instructions and filling according to process orders.
  • Sample batches and run required tests on testing equipment according to QC standard tests.
  • Record raw material materials used, production generated and QC results in SAP. Operate lift truck. 
  • All duties to be accomplished according to all safety policies, procedures, and Regs .

Shipping

  • Pull appropriate material to be shipped by code numbers according to shipping pick slips.
  • This also includes the metering and pumping of products into customers' bulk tankers and tote tanks.
  • Fill out pick slips with required shipping information. 
  • Package material securely for transportation by carriers. 
  • Operate lift truck. 
  • Label, mark material, and placard trucks according to all DOT Regs.  
  • Follow shipping procedure of having orders double-checked for specified business groups.
  • Check material to verify it's marked with required environmental markings. 
  • All duties to be accomplished according to all safety policies, procedures, and Regs.

Receiving

  • Receive in raw materials, purchase for resale products, and stock from other facilities.
  • Operate lift truck.
  • Check any hazardous materials for appropriate marking, labeling, and container according to DOT Regs.
  • Check inbound material for any damage. 
  • Move stock to specified storage areas. 
  • Apply HMIS markings to raw materials and supplies. 
  • Record/post receipts in SAP. 
  • All duties to be accomplished according to all safety policies, procedures, and Regs.

Maintenance

  • Perform preventive maintenance on production and filling equipment.
  • In some situations perform preventative maintenance on lift trucks, fire sprinkler system and building.
  • Record work performed in the maintenance documentation system.
  • Troubleshoot and repair equipment as needed.
  • Specify maintenance parts and supplies to be ordered. 
  • Operate lift truck and use assorted power tools.

Skills, Qualifications, Experience, Special Physical Requirements:

  • High school diploma or GED
  • 1-2 years experience
