Job Description

Codes and Approvals Support Specialist

The focus of this role is to provide technical support to the Roofing Division Product Group with a focus on codes, approvals, and associated testing.

Duties/Responsibilities, Core knowledge:

  • Work with cross-functional teams in manufacturing, R&D, Product Group, and Technical Solutions Group as it relates to roofing codes, approvals, and associated testing.
  • Interface with the Director, Technical Solutions, Product Managers, Sales, Manufacturing, and Technical Solutions Group to support the roofing product line as it relates to FM, UL, Miami-Dade, Florida Building Code, and the International Building Code.
  • Assist with testing programs at FM or 3rd party testing agencies.
  • Review roofing specifications submitted by Tremco Sales Reps and provide feedback on necessary changes or modifications to meet codes or Tremco guidelines.
  • Support Roofing Division Product Managers as it relates to datasheets, bulletins, manuals, and instructions for Tremco Roofing products.
  • Be proficient on the phone with respect to product usage, system specifications, competitive product analysis, Tremco website, product and system specifications, roof system repairs, and problems.
  • Assist in the training and development of sales representatives and contractors as required.
  • Travel to Tremco job sites to enhance product knowledge, support the sales force, and gain experience with Tremco products and systems.
  • Provide technical assistance and/or responses to Tremco employees via the Tremco Helpdesk.

Skills, Qualifications, Experience, Special Physical Requirements:

  • Associates degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school
  • One to two years of related experience and/or training
