Main Duties & Responsibilities:

Mold makers create, adjust, and adapt the molds used in rubber cast manufacturing.  Mold makers typically work with specifications from a design team, and they need to know how to work from schematics and be familiar with computer-aided design (CAD) programs for this purpose. The mold maker creates initial molds.  Mold makers often work with existing parts, making necessary adjustments to existing molds and conforming existing molds to new product specifications.

  • Making of new custom molds and the reproduction of old molds.
  • Employee must be able to operate equipment properly and safely.
  • Keep track of mold making supplies and reorder when necessary, example (wood, nails, screws, epoxies)
  • Ensure equipment clean and in good working order. Check safety features daily example (all types of saws, drills, sand, and routers).
  • Cutting of wood and building of crates for shipping large tool orders or show freight.
  • Assist the tool maker with pouring tools and packing order when needed.
  • Keep department clean and organized.
  • Assist in the quoting of new custom molds
  • Perform cycle counting when required
  • Making of straps and silicone logo that go in the back of rubber stamp tools.
  • QC rubber stamping tools.

Education & Experience:

  • One year certificate from college or technical school; or three to six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
