Main Duties and Responsibilities:

The Extrusion Operators support with the following:

  • Required to do all job tasks of an Extrusion Operator Assitant
  • Silo Management for supply to Extrusion Lines
  • Operation and Maintenance  of Vacuum System
    • Clean Vacuum System Filters  
  • Extruder Operation - monitor heat and pressure gauges to amke proper adjustments
  • Change out Extruder Dies 
  • Threading of Extrusion lines for startup
  • Change Cutler Wheels and Cutler Wheel Blades
  • Complete Shift Reports and Production results
  • Operate Baler Equipment
    • Empty Wast Cages
    • Recyle Resin
    • Recycle Cardboard
  • Perform Slecet mechanical repairs of Twisters
  • Operate and trouble shoot extrusion lines 
  • Clean and maintain extrusion line areas 
  • Required to operate forklift 
  • Must be able to work 12 h our shifts
  • Works well with others in a team enrvironment 
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Education & Experience:

  • High  School Diploma or General Education Degree; or up to one month related experience or training.
  • Previous experience working within manufacturing environment
  • Previous experience with fork-lift operation

Key Competencies:

  • Communication Skills: Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.

  • Mathematical Skills: ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's; ability to perform operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance- utilizing appropriate measurement tools.

  • Problem Solving: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

Physical Demands:

  • Daily standing, walking, using hands to finger, handle, or feel, and reaching with hands and arms.

  • Occasional climbing or balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling, and talking and/or hearing.

  • Frequent lifting of up to 50 lbs.

Work Environment:

  • Frequent exposure to working near moving mechanical parts.

  • The noise level for this job is moderate.
